Activation of TCU protocols for KESS3 Master, enabling reprogramming of automatic gearbox control units.
This activation gives access to transmission parameters: shift points, shift times, hydraulic pressure and maximum input torque. It covers several thousand vehicles.
Automatic gearbox optimisation is most often carried out alongside engine remapping. On a vehicle where torque has been increased, the factory input limit of the gearbox can cap the gains achieved.
In Master version, read files can be modified in-house or sent to a tuner of your choice.

WHAT THIS PROTOCOL COVERS
ECU and TCU: two distinct computer families
KESS3 processes engine control units (ECUs) by default. This activation adds support for transmission control units (TCUs).
Transmission Control Units (TCUs)
Automatic and automated manual transmissions, in addition to the engine control units already covered by your vehicle protocols (Car/LCV, Motorcycle/Quad/UTV, etc.).

Activation Requirements
How is the protocol activated?
Activation is performed remotely on your KESS3 Master device, using your Alientech ID, within 24 to 48 hours after your order
Is the protocol time-limited?
No: activation is permanent for the chosen category and mode. Only vehicle compatibility updates are covered for 12 months, and are then renewable.
Can I add more categories later?
Yes, each category and mode can be ordered separately or in a pack. You can complete your KESS3 Slave as your activity progresses.

Does this protocol work without a KESS3 Master device?
No, this is a software extension: it requires a KESS3 Master Alientech device that you already own and have activated.
Does this activation replace my vehicle protocols (Car/LCV, Motorcycle/Quad/UTV...)?
No, it is complementary: you must already have an active vehicle protocol for the category concerned before adding TCU support.
Is this activation available for the KESS3 Slave?
It does not appear in the current Slave catalog, contact our support to check availability for your configuration.
Is the protocol different between a KESS3 Slave and a KESS3 Master?
The content of the protocol (vehicles and modes covered) is identical; only the product reference changes depending on your device version.
