OBD mode reads and writes control unit data via the vehicle's diagnostic port, without removal. This activation covers OBD access on this vehicle range, from older to the latest equipment.
On industrial vehicles and agricultural machinery, OBD access avoids the downtime associated with control unit removal. This is a decisive argument for fleet operators or during harvest season, where every hour of downtime costs more than the job itself.
In Master version, read files can be modified in-house or sent to a tuner of your choice.

All three formats are available for the Agriculture/HGV/Bus category. This product only covers the OBD mode, highlighted below.

Activation requirements
How is the protocol activated?
Activation is performed remotely on your KESS3 Master device, via your Alientech ID, within 24 to 48 hours after ordering
Is the protocol time-limited?
No: activation is permanent for the Car/LVC category and the OBD-Bench-Boot mode. Only vehicle compatibility updates are covered for 12 months, and then renewable.
Can I add more categories later?
Yes, each category and mode can be ordered separately or as a pack. You can complete your KESS3 Master as your activity develops (Motorcycle/Quad/UTV, Agriculture/Heavy Duty/Bus, Boats/Jet-ski).

Does this protocol work without a KESS3 Master device?
No, this is a software upgrade: it requires an Alientech KESS3 Master device that you already own and that has been activated.
Can I add Bench-Boot mode later for Agriculture/Heavy-Duty/Bus?
Yes, by ordering "Bench-Boot Protocols - Agriculture/Heavy Duty/Bus" (2,490.00 € excl. VAT) separately. You can also check if the complete Agriculture/Heavy Duty/Bus OBD-Bench-Boot pack (3,390.00 € excl. VAT) is more advantageous for your needs.
What is "full activation of protocols"?
This is the equivalent of that protocol, but extended to all vehicle categories (Cars/LCVs, Motorcycles/Quads/UTVs, Agriculture/HGVs/Buses, Boats/Jet Skis) for the chosen mode.
Is the protocol different between a KESS3 Slave and a KESS3 Master?
The content of the protocol (vehicles and modes covered) is identical; only the product reference changes depending on your device's version.
