The Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) is the shared platform developed by Geely and Volvo Cars. It powers all their compact models — from the Volvo XC40 to the Polestar 2, including the entire Lynk & Co range. A single ECU controls them all: the Bosch MG1CS080.

Protocol and service conditions
The MG1CS080 works exclusively in Bench mode after Mail-in Unlock. Specifically:
- The ECU must be sent in for preliminary unlocking — only once per ECU
- Once unlocked, reading and writing are performed directly on the bench, without physically opening the casing
- Reading time: 1 min 30 sec / Writing time: 1 min
- Checksum correction included, automatic backup
This protocol is aimed at workshops that already have Bench equipment or wish to integrate it into their service offering.
Why this segment is an opportunity for your workshop
Volvo, Polestar, and Lynk & Co customers are premium clientele, accustomed to spending on the maintenance and tuning of their vehicles. And it is a clientele that no one is currently serving properly in terms of tuning.
Most tuning workshops are focused on VAG, BMW, and Mercedes. As soon as a client arrives with an XC40 T5 or a Polestar 2, the standard response is "we can't do that."
