The KESS3 is the ECU reprogramming device developed by Alientech. It reads and writes engine control units (ECU) and automatic gearbox control units (TCU) via three communication modes: OBD, Bench and Boot.
The KESS3 replaces both the KESSv2 and K-TAG in a single unit. It features a new microprocessor, next-generation I/O interfaces, integrated sensors and high-performance memory. Read and write times are reduced compared to the previous generation.
This reference corresponds to the device initialised in Master version. In Master mode, read files can be modified in-house or sent to a tuner of your choice.
The hardware is inert until protocols are activated. You select the segments you work on — car, motorcycle, agricultural, heavy-duty or marine — and the communication modes you need. Additional activations can be added later without any hardware change.

At least one protocol activation is required to make the device operational. Any activation applied to a new device includes a 12-month subscription. Alientech also offers a trade-in programme for KESSv2 and K-TAG units.

Who is the Kess3 Master for?
You want to stop depending on an external Master
You are already operating a Kess3 Slave and paying for each file sent: the Alientech Kess 3 Master allows you to internalize the editing of your maps with software like ECM Titanium, set your own deadlines, and keep the margin you were previously paying to your Master.
You want to control a network of Slaves
The Master can receive extractions from several connected Slave units, edit the files, and then send them back ready for use.
You are already comfortable with map editing
If you are already proficient in reading engine maps, the Kess 3 Master Alientech gives you direct and autonomous access to stage 1 to 3 chip tuning, and E85 conversion.

A housing designed to work on almost all engine and gearbox ECUs on the market, with sensational performance and immediate usability.
OBD Mode
Rapid communication directly from the passenger compartment. The new-generation OBD cable unifies all market protocols and automatically handles complex multiplexed architectures (Ethernet, FlexRay, CAN Bus, K-Line, J1850).
Benchmarking Mode
Work directly on the external connector of the previously removed ECU. This method guarantees full reading without opening the ECU casing, eliminating any risk of material damage.
Boot Mode
Directly access the microprocessor by connecting to the exposed electronic board. Essential for high-security, latest-generation ECUs, or to force a complete rewrite on a blocked ECU.

How does the Master version work?
1. You extract the data
OBD from the passenger compartment, external connector in Bench mode, or direct access to the microprocessor in Boot mode for the most locked ECUs.
2. You edit the file yourself
With editing software like ECM Titanium, you can create or modify the mapping directly, without going through a third party or waiting for feedback.
3. You reinject or distribute
You write the file to the calculator, or send it back to one of your Slave boxes if you are supervising an attachment network.

What is the difference between Kess 3 Master and Kess 3 Slave?
The Master operates autonomously: it can create and modify mapping files without being tethered. The Slave must transmit its files to a Master for editing.
Can the Kess 3 Master control multiple Slave units?
Yes, a Master can receive files from multiple associated Slaves, edit them, and then send them back ready to be reintegrated.
What vehicles are compatible with the KESS3?
Depending on the activated protocol packs: cars and light commercial vehicles, motorcycles/quads/UTVs, agricultural machinery and heavy goods vehicles, or boats and jet skis.
Is a subscription required to use Kess3 Master?
The tool includes 12 months of protocol updates. After this period, the device remains fully functional on vehicles already acquired; a renewal is required to add new vehicles or protocols.
Is the protocol pack included in the displayed price?
No, the KESS3 Slave does not work without an activated protocol. Select the pack(s) corresponding to your activity when ordering.
