Protocol pack for KESS3 Slave covering passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, combining OBD, Bench and Boot communication modes.
OBD mode reads and writes via the diagnostic port without removal. Bench mode connects directly to the control unit connector. Boot mode connects to specific points on the circuit board. This pack covers all access methods from older to the latest vehicles.
In Slave version, read files are encrypted. The modified calibration map is provided by your reference Master. This setup allows a workshop to carry out all on-vehicle operations independently, without bearing the cost of a Master licence or developing in-house calibration expertise.
The car and LCV segment offers the widest availability of calibration maps from tuners.

WHAT THIS PROTOCOL COVERS
Supported vehicles and modes
Please check that the category and mode correspond to your usage before ordering, as the protocol cannot be modified after activation.
Cars/LCVs
Passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, gasoline, diesel and hybrid, up to 3.5 tonnes.
OBD-Bench-Boot Mode
The three modes combined: OBD for rapid intervention, Bench and Boot for ECUs that have been removed or are secure.
OBD, Bench-Boot or full package: how to choose?
The three formats exist for the Car/LCV category. This product corresponds to the complete pack, highlighted below.
OBD Only

Sufficient if you almost always work through the diagnostic port, without removing the ECU.

Activation requirements
How is the protocol activated?
Activation is performed remotely on your KESS3 Slave device, using your Alientech ID, within 24 to 48 hours after the order is placed
Is the protocol time-limited?
No: activation is permanent for the Car/LVC category and OBD-Bench-Boot mode. Only vehicle compatibility updates are covered for 12 months, then renewable.
Can I add more categories later?
Yes, each category and each mode can be purchased separately or as part of a pack. You can complete your KESS3 Slave as your activity progresses (Motorbike/Quad/UTV, Agriculture/Heavy Duty/Bus, Boats/Jet-ski).

Does this protocol work without a KESS3 Slave unit?
No, this is a software extension: it requires a KESS3 Slave Alientech device that you already own and have activated.
What's the difference with "OBD Protocols - Car/LCV" or "Bench-Boot Protocols - Car/LCV" alone?
This package combines both: you don't have to separately purchase the OBD protocol (€1,290 excl. VAT) and the Bench-Boot protocol (€990 excl. VAT) for the same category.
What is "full protocol activation"?
This is the equivalent of that protocol, but extended to all vehicle categories (Car/LCV, Motorcycle/ATV/UTV, Agriculture/HGV/Bus, Boats/Jet Skis) for the chosen mode.
Is the protocol different between a KESS3 Slave and a KESS3 Master?
The protocol content (vehicles and modes covered) is identical; only the product reference changes depending on the version of your box.
