Activation of Bench and Boot protocols for KESS3 Master covering boats and jet-skis.
Bench mode reads and writes the control unit by connecting directly to its connector. Boot mode reads and writes by connecting to specific points on the circuit board. This activation covers Bench and Boot access on this vehicle range, from older to the latest powertrains.
On marine powertrains, control unit removal is sometimes the only viable access route. Bench work also allows treatment of a removed unit for repair or replacement.
In Master version, read files can be modified in-house or sent to a tuner of your choice.

Supported vehicles and modes
Please ensure that the category and mode match your intended use before ordering, as the protocol cannot be modified after activation.
Boats/Jet Skis
Outboard and inboard engines, jet skis and recreational craft.
Bench-Boot Mode
Reading and writing directly on the ECU (Bench mode) or on its open electronic board (Boot mode), necessary for the most secure ECUs or for cloning.
OBD, Bench-Boot or full package: how to choose?
This product only covers Bench-Boot mode. Compare with OBD-only mode or the complete pack below before ordering.
OBD Only
OBD Reading Mode
Covers only OBD mode for Boats/Jet Skis. Sufficient if you almost always work from the diagnostic port, without removing the ECU.
Bench-Boot only
ECUs in deposit: this product
Required for cloning or for the most secure ECUs that require Bench or Boot intervention.
Complete Pack
OBD + Bench-Boot
Combines both modes for Boats/Jet Skis at €1,490.00 ex-VAT, cheaper than buying both separately (€2,180.00 ex-VAT).
Activation requirements
How is the protocol enabled?
Activation is performed remotely on your KESS3 Master device, using your Alientech ID, within 24 to 48 hours after your order.
Is the protocol time-limited?
No: activation is permanent for the Car/LVC category and OBD-Bench-Boot mode. Only vehicle compatibility updates are covered for 12 months, after which they are renewable.
Can I add more categories later?
Yes, each category and each mode can be ordered separately or in a pack. You can complete your KESS3 Master as your business grows (Motorbike/Quad/UTV, Agriculture/Trucks/Buses, Boats/Jet Skis).

Does this protocol work without a KESS3 Master device?
No, this is a software extension: it requires an Alientech KESS3 Master device that you already own and have activated.
Can I add OBD mode later to Boats/Jet Skis?
Yes, by ordering "OBD Protocols - Boats/Jet Skis" (1,290.00 € excl. tax) separately. You can also check if the complete Boats/Jet Skis OBD-Bench-Boot pack (1,490.00 € excl. tax) is more advantageous depending on your needs.
What is "full activation of protocols"?
This is the equivalent of this protocol, but extended to all vehicle categories (Car/LCV, Motorcycle/Quad/UTV, Agriculture/HGV/Bus, Boats/Jet-ski) for the selected mode.
Is the protocol different between a KESS3 Slave and a KESS3 Master?
The protocol content (vehicles and modes covered) is identical; only the product reference changes depending on your device version.
