Activation of OBD protocols for KESS3 Master covering boats and jet-skis.
OBD mode reads and writes control unit data via the vehicle's diagnostic port, without removal. This activation covers OBD access on this vehicle range, from older to the latest powertrains.
OBD access on a marine powertrain avoids control unit removal, which is often awkward in a confined engine compartment. Work can be carried out dockside or on a trailer.
In Master version, read files can be modified in-house or sent to a tuner of your choice.

All three formats are available for the Boats/Jet skis category. This product only covers the OBD mode, highlighted below.

ECUs removed from vehicle
Required for cloning or the most secure ECUs that require Bench or Boot intervention.

Activation requirements
How is the protocol activated?
Activation is performed remotely on your KESS3 Master device, using your Alientech ID, within 24 to 48 hours after the order is placed.
Is the protocol time-limited?
No: activation is permanent for the Car/LVC category and OBD-Bench-Boot mode. Only vehicle compatibility updates are covered for 12 months, then renewable.
Can I add more categories later?
Yes, each category and mode can be ordered separately or as a pack. You can complete your KESS3 Master as your activity develops (Motorcycle/Quad/UTV, Agriculture/Heavy Duty/Bus, Boats/Jet-ski).

Does this protocol work without a KESS3 Master device?
No, this is a software extension: it requires a KESS3 Master Alientech device that you already own and have activated.
Can I add Bench-Boot mode later to Boats/Jet Skis?
Yes, by ordering "Bench-Boot Protocols - Boats/Jet-ski" separately (€890.00 excluding tax). You can also check if the complete Boats/Jet-ski OBD-Bench-Boot pack (€1,490.00 excluding tax) is more advantageous for your needs.
What is "full protocol activation"?
This is the equivalent of this protocol, but extended to all vehicle categories (Car/LCV, Motorcycle/Quad/UTV, Agriculture/HGV/Bus, Boats/Jet-ski) for the selected mode.
Is the protocol different between a KESS3 Slave and a KESS3 Master?
The content of the protocol (vehicles and modes covered) is identical; only the product reference changes depending on your device's version.
