The KESS3 is the ECU reprogramming device developed by Alientech. It reads and writes engine control units (ECU) and automatic gearbox control units (TCU) via three communication modes: OBD, Bench and Boot.
The KESS3 replaces both the KESSv2 and K-TAG in a single unit. It features a new microprocessor, next-generation I/O interfaces, integrated sensors and high-performance memory. Read and write times are reduced compared to the previous generation.
This reference corresponds to the device initialised in Slave version. In Slave mode, read files are encrypted. The modified calibration map is provided by your reference Master.
The Slave version allows full read and write operations on the vehicle independently, at a lower entry cost than a Master. It is the configuration chosen by workshops operating within a network around a reference tuner.

Who is the Kess3 Salve for?
Le KESS3 est votre clé d'accès au calculateur : il extrait le fichier d'origine et réécrit le fichier optimisé que votre Master vous renvoie. Ce maillon conditionne tout le reste. Avec plus de 3 500 protocoles et trois modes de connexion, il une grande partie du parc et donc la quasi-totalité des prestations d'un atelier de reprogrammation.
Starting your remapping business
You don't yet have the skills to edit a map yourself: the Kess 3 Slave Alientech allows you to charge for stage 1 chip tuning on original vehicles, up to stage 2 and 3 configurations after mechanical modification, by relying on a Master for the editing part. Flexfuel E85 conversion (up to 60% fuel savings announced for your customers) is a common service to offer from the first few months.
You already have diagnostic tools
You already troubleshoot ECUs, but not yet by cloning: in Bench or Boot mode, the Kess 3 Slave Alientech extracts all data from a faulty or infiltrated ECU or TCU, to be sent to your Master for re-injecting the immobilizer and mileage into a used module. It also handles recurring faults such as clogged DPFs, fouled EGR valves, faulty AdBlue modules, or deactivation of fault codes related to a removed mechanical part (Swirl Flaps, pop and bang), within the current legal framework.
You advise utility fleets
In eco-tuning, the Kess 3 Slave Alientech shifts the torque curve to lower RPMs to reduce fuel consumption by 5 to 15% on loaded vehicles, a direct budgetary argument for a fleet manager. Coupled with the DynoDrive option, you can convert this gain into a quantified report given to the client.

OBD Mode

How does the Slave version work?
1. You extract the data
According to the calculator, you choose the OBD port from the cabin for speed, the external connector in Bench mode without opening the ECU, or direct access to the microprocessor in Boot mode for the most locked units.
2. Your Master edits the file
The extracted file is encrypted and then transmitted via the Alientech Cloud to your Master, which prepares the requested mapping or cloning data; you do not intervene in the editing process.
3. You reinject in the workshop
The corrected file is ready for your use: you write it to the vehicle's ECU, without ever needing mapping engineering skills.

What is the difference between KESS3 Slave and KESS3 Master?
The Slave allows reading and writing of ECUs but must be connected to a Master to edit mapping files. The Master operates independently and can create or modify files.
Can the KESS3 Slave be upgraded to a Master version?
Yes, at any time, subject to the approval of your assigned Master.
What vehicles are compatible with the KESS3?
Depending on the activated protocol packs: cars and light commercial vehicles, motorcycles/quads/UTVs, agricultural machinery and heavy goods vehicles, or boats and jet skis.
Is a subscription required to use the KESS3 Slave?
The tool includes 12 months of protocol updates. After this period, the device remains fully functional on vehicles already acquired; renewal is required to add new vehicles or protocols.
Is the protocol pack included in the displayed price?
No: the KESS3 Slave does not work without an activated protocol. Select the pack(s) corresponding to your activity when ordering.
